The son of Security Risk returns to the track where he won the Clásico Latency and Clásico Remigio González Moreno, targeting the Clásico Juan Carlos Etchechoury

San Isidro kicks off its marquee Carreras de las Estrellas weekend with an added stakes feature on Friday afternoon, carding the Clásico Juan Carlos Etchechoury to honor the memory of the legendary hall-of-fame trainer "Pochi" Etchechoury, whose conditioning legacy lives on through his prominent sons Juan Carlos, Carlos Daniel, and Juan Javier.

The 6 1/2-furlong main track handicap drew nine entrants, with a pair of progressive sophomores topping the marquee.

With his seasonal reappearance under his belt, Huracán Risk looks ready to find his winning form again. The son of Security Risk returns to the racetrack where he established his class last season with victories in the Clásico Latency and Clásico Remigio González Moreno. Campaigned by Stud Mis Hijos, the colt checked in a closing fifth in the Grade 2 Ciudad de La Plata last spring and exits a solid third-place effort—beaten 2 1/2 lengths by El Resero Con Capa—in the Grade 3 Asociación Bonaerense after a six-month racing hiatus. He will carry 129 pounds today.

He will have to dethrone the red-hot Tiffony Mo (El Moisés), assigned 126 pounds, who enters on the heels of three consecutive victories. The upstart colt validated his current form with a dominant score over Grade 1 winners El Mejor Recuerdo and El Fortín in the Clásico Adolfo P. y Aníbal J. Giovanetti last time out.

Yak Sport (Glory Seattle) is the turf handicap's highweight at 132 pounds. He seeks a rebound following a sub-par performance in the Especial Cafrune, but possesses underlying back class as a winner of the Clásico Candy Ride and Clásico Jockey Club de Corrientes. He figures to clear early with Tiffony Mo, though a hot tempo could damage his late kick.

Rounding out the competitive field are veteran campaigner Príncipe Soñado (Fragotero), a durable closer assigned 130 pounds, and Bluclette Rim (Remote), who carries 126 pounds and aims to turn the page after a recent medication infraction stripped him of a stakes win on the grass.
