The son of Forge begins his American adventure carrying the hopes of Argentine racing, looking to follow the path blazed by several South American standouts who successfully crossed hemispheres

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (Special to Turf Diario).- Following a highly productive 2025 campaign, Winston will make his United States debut on Wednesday, launching a new Argentine and South American dream on North American soil.
The gray colt is among the 14 confirmed runners—with two listed as also-eligibles—for the seventh race at Horseshoe Indianapolis, a $46,240 allowance to be contested over 1700 meters on turf.
Marketed by Correas y Cambas Bloodstock, the son of Forge is now trained by Horacio De Paz and will make his first start for the partnership of Club 65 Racing, LLC (Sean Perl), Chief Horse Futures, LLC (David Alcaro), and Liberty House Racing, LLC (James Rice).
Johan Rosado has been named to ride, and the colt will break from the potentially tricky rail post.
Installed at 10-1 on the morning line, Winston concluded his Argentine career with an excellent runner-up finish behind Gordianus (Señor Candy) in the Gran Premio Nacional (G1), but that effort was merely the culmination of an outstanding season.
Winner of the Clásico Isidoro Aramburu (G2) and the Polla de Potrillos (G3) at La Plata, he was also runner-up in both the Pedro Goenaga (G2) and Provincia de Buenos Aires (G2), third in the Jockey Club de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (G2), and fourth in the Old Man (G3), establishing himself as one of the most consistent members of his generation.
Winston arrives for his North American debut after a steady series of preparatory workouts, highlighted by a sharp half-mile move in :48.80 over the dirt at Laurel Park, the fastest of 14 works recorded at the distance that morning.
Two additional details stand out: Winston has been gelded since arriving in the United States and will race on Lasix for the first time.
The early favorite is The Dover Specter (English Channel), who exits a string of modest efforts at Churchill Downs and Turfway Park. Another contender is Justhappytobehere (Jimmy Creed), fresh off a runner-up finish in a similar event.
Passing Judgment (Outwork) brings several solid conditional efforts into the race, while Covert Law (Tiz the Law)also merits consideration.
Still, based strictly on accomplishments, Winston enters this company with credentials that compare favorably with any horse in the field.
Now comes the real test.
A new country, a new circuit, and a new challenge await. But if Winston can reproduce the form he displayed in Argentina, his American adventure may be just getting started.
