More than 2 years since his last victory, the son of Lenovo took advantage of the favorite's absence to capture the Especial Islas Malvinas

Moving scenes unfolded following Magyar’s victory in the Especial Islas Malvinas (1000m, wet dirt), the highlight of the Holy Thursday card at the local racecourse. Antonio Marcilece, representing the Centro de Ex Combatientes Islas Malvinas de La Plata (CECIM), joined the winners for the trophy presentation, which included an exchange of gifts with track officials to honor the heroes of the 1982 conflict.
On the track, the son of Lenovo capitalized on the scratching of favorite Folke Dancer (Forge) to roll back the years. It was his first trip to the winner's circle in over two years, dating back to his February 2024 score in the Clásico Onesto Puente (L).
The Stud 3 F color-bearer had endured a 15-race drought since that afternoon. Carrying 56 kilos under jockey Abel Romay, the Gustavo Fabbian trainee surged to the lead in the final furlong to deny Cántaros Song (Alcindor, 56) by a mere half-neck. The runner-up compromised his chances at the break by drifting wide. Oro Azteca (Empire Aztec, 55) finished two lengths back to complete the trifecta, with the winner stopping the clock in 59.49 seconds.
It was the sixth lifetime win in 30 starts for Magyar, who appears to be finding his best form once again in this new stage of his career.
