The Estrellas Classic (G1), Distaff (G1), and Sprint (G1) will be incorporated into the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s World Pool system next month

The internationalization of South American racing has just received another major endorsement.

World Pool, the global wagering platform operated by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and widely regarded as one of the most ambitious projects aimed at expanding horse racing’s worldwide reach, will once again turn its attention to the region when the upcoming Carreras de las Estrellas become part of its official schedule.

The announcement confirms that races from the prestigious June 27 program at Hipódromo de San Isidro will be offered to a betting network spanning 27 jurisdictions around the globe, once again placing South American racing in a privileged international showcase.

Specifically, World Pool will incorporate three of the four Group 1 events that form the core of the festival: the Gran Premio Estrellas Classic (G1), the Gran Premio Estrellas Distaff (G1), and the Gran Premio Estrellas Sprint (G1).

It represents a strategic step of enormous value for regional racing, not only because of the exposure generated by the competition itself, but also because of the opportunity to introduce South American horses, professionals, and racing programs to an increasingly broad global audience.

The selection of the Carreras de las Estrellas is no coincidence.

Over the years, the festival has established itself as one of the most important meetings on the South American calendar, bringing together the best horses of the moment across a variety of divisions and distances.

Its inclusion also marks the fourth time World Pool has ventured into South America, further confirming the growing international interest in the region’s racing product.

The first experience came with the Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1) at San Isidro in 2023.

That was followed by the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (G1) at San Isidro in 2024, while in 2025 the system returned for the Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1) at Gávea, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Now the Carreras de las Estrellas join an increasingly selective and prestigious international schedule.

The announcement was made by the Hong Kong Jockey Club as part of the unveiling of the World Pool calendar for June, July, and August, a program that continues to expand through some of the world’s most prestigious racing festivals.

Among the new additions are July Cup Day at Newmarket, Shergar Cup Day at Ascot, Irish Oaks Day at The Curragh, and several top-level Australian fixtures, while established festivals at Goodwood, York, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Munich, and Greyville will also expand their presence within the World Pool program.

Andrew Harding, Executive Director of Racing for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, emphasized that the goal remains to bring the world's finest racing events to international bettors.

The inclusion of the Carreras de las Estrellas fits perfectly within that philosophy.

For Argentine racing, it represents far more than a simple commercial agreement.

It serves as international validation of the quality of its racing product and of the organizational strength of a festival that has long functioned as South America’s version of the Breeders’ Cup.

With San Isidro as its stage and four Group 1 titles on offer during the second day of the festival, the Carreras de las Estrellas will once again become a must-see event for Argentine racing fans.

This time, however, it will unfold before millions of eyes watching from every corner of the globe.

Because when World Pool arrives at a race meeting, its impact extends far beyond national borders.

And on June 27, South America will once again find itself at the center of the international racing stage.
