The son of Glory Seattle achieved his first stakes success at the Jockey Club de Corrientes

LA PLATA.- The demonstration of superiority given by Yak Sport in the Clásico Jockey Club de Corrientes (1600 m, normal dirt) was tremendous, the race that opened Sunday's stakes double at this city's racetrack. After many attempts, the always generous son of Glory Seattle was finally able to strike gold from wire to wire at the highest level, a pending assignment he still had in his campaign.
With significant experience, the Stud Par de Locos representative was coming off a close finish behind Sargento Morris(Gouverneur Morris) in the Clásico Haras Ojo de Agua (L) on the San Isidro turf, and now he carried that good form forward.
From the reins, the Uruguayan Maximiliano Aserito Rodríguez placed him in front as soon as the gates opened, not worrying too much about the outside draw. The bay pulled several lengths away and set a strong pace of 24s37/100 and 46s65/100.
By that point, his rivals were all stretched out, thrown off their rhythm by the leader. The straight arrived, and it was soon clear that the advantages Yak Sport held were going to be impossible to close. The rest was simple for the winner, who ended up reaching the wire with 6 lengths of advantage over El Ernesto (Señor Candy), in a great time of 1m35s87/100.
Another 1 1/2 lengths back, El Gazpacho (Bodemeister) completed the trifecta. The favorite Storm Sound (Hi Happy) was a shadow of himself and finished fifth, ahead of Sabiyano (Fortify), another of the main contenders in the preview.
Trained by Miguel Medina and bred privately by Matías M. Rougier, Yak Sport became a stakes winner without betraying his convictions: from start to finish.
