The Brazilian filly went wire to wire, drawing clear by 3 1/2 lengths over Tobera

Última Viaje (57kg) continued her solid form on Friday at San Isidro, as the Belair Stud runner dominated the Handicap Ipê (1800m, dirt), the featured race on an otherwise quiet card.
Coming into the race with two wins in her last three starts, the daughter of Eyeofthetiger (Tempranero), Argentina’s Derby Winner, went straight to the front and never looked back, setting the pace to perfection under Eduardo Ortega Pavón.
Never facing a real challenge, Última Viaje maintained a clear advantage throughout and sealed the victory as she turned for home, accelerating effortlessly to put the race out of reach for her rivals.
Tobera (Fortify, 57kg) chased all the way down the stretch but had to settle for second, finishing 3 1/2 lengths back, with Queen of Córdoba (Almanzor), a British-bred, another 1 1/2 lengths behind in third. The final time was 1:49.92, following fractions of :24.92, :50.53, 1:14.80, and 1:37.77.
Out of Leding Hat (Top Hat), Última Viaje is trained at Palermo by Jorge Mayansky Neer. This victory marked the most significant of her career, bringing her record to 4 wins from 11 starts and pushing her earnings to 19,096,000 pesos.
