The milestone was achieved thanks to Deloraine's victory in the Belle Mahone Stakes (G3) at Woodbine, adding yet another remarkable chapter to the extraordinary legacy of the Argentine-bred champion

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Special to Turf Diario).- Candy Ride continues to break barriers.

Recently elevated to the status of a true sire-of-sires, with many of his sons now carrying on his influence at stud, the legendary Argentine-bred champion continues to compile extraordinary achievements of his own.

His latest milestone came last Saturday when he reached 120 individual stakes winners, courtesy of Deloraine, who earned the biggest victory of her career in the Belle Mahone Stakes (G3) over 1700 meters on Woodbine's synthetic surface in Canada.

Bred and raced by Godolphin and trained by Eoin Harty, the 4-year-old filly defeated Stylish Sue (Nyquist) by three-quarters of a length, with Equitas (Silent Name) another 3 3/4 lengths back in third after stopping the clock in 1:44.47. Ryan Munger was aboard for the victory.

Deloraine represents one of the most successful crosses available for Candy Ride. She is out of Elaine's Cat, a daughter of Discreet Cat (Forestry), creating the highly productive blend of Storm Cat blood with that of the magnificent horse bred by Haras Abolengo.

The pedigree is loaded with quality.

Deloraine's granddam is Unbridled Elaine (Unbridled's Song), winner of the Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) and producer of Grade 2 winners Etched (Forestry) and Emotionless (Shamardal), as well as Grade 3 winner Out of Bounds (Discreet Cat). She is also the second dam of the outstanding Nysos (Nyquist), all descending from the family of the memorable Glitter Woman (Glitterman) and her Grade 1-winning son Political Force (Unbridled's Song).

The figure of 120 stakes winners, highlighted in the weekly compilation published by the Thoroughbred Daily News, is far from insignificant. It serves as another testament to the enduring influence of Candy Ride, who is approaching his 27th birthday and remains active at Lane's End Farm in Kentucky, where his 2026 stud fee stood at $60,000.

For the Argentine icon, Deloraine became his 62nd graded stakes winner, a remarkable statistic that helps explain why he remains among North America's elite stallions. He currently sits 17th on the general sire standings, while his sons Gun Runner, Vekoma, and Twirling Candy occupy third, eleventh, and seventeenth positions, respectively, among North American sires.

Winner of the Gran Premio Joaquín S. de Anchorena (G1) and Gran Premio San Isidro (G1) in Argentina, as well as the Pacific Classic (G1) in the United States, and still the record holder for a mile on turf at San Isidro and 1 1/4 miles on dirt at Del Mar, Candy Ride seems to add a new chapter to his extraordinary story almost daily.

And with achievements like this one, it is becoming increasingly clear that his legacy is not merely exceptional—it may well be impossible to replicate
