The colt from Stud Tres Jotas stands out in the Asociación Bonaerense de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera (G3)

LA PLATA.- One-turn sprint racing finds some of its most important events of the season at this track, with the ultimate highlight coming every November 19 when the Clásico Ciudad de La Plata (G2) is contested, a race that once held Group 1 status.
That is why following the division’s progression throughout the year is always fascinating.
Another chapter will be written this unusual Friday with the Clásico Asociación Bonaerense de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera (G3), contested over 1200 meters on dirt, for which only five runners have been confirmed.
At the top of the contenders’ list stands El Resero Con Capa, who returns to the division where he performs best after experimenting at longer distances.
The son of Angiolo, winner of the 2025 Ciudad de La Plata, is virtually unbeatable under these conditions and enters off a highly convincing victory in the Clásico Julio Corte (L).
That afternoon, cutting back from 1400 meters, the Stud-Haras Tres Jotas homebred drew away with complete authority in the stretch to defeat the talented Rugiente by six lengths, stopping the clock in a sparkling 1:03.62 for 1100 meters while seemingly still having plenty left in reserve.
The feeling is that, barring unforeseen circumstances, El Resero Con Capa should be extremely difficult to beat.
Of course, races are never won on paper, and Huracán Risk (Security Risk) will be there to challenge him while making his return from a 170-day layoff.
The bay colt finished fifth in last year’s Ciudad de La Plata before rebounding to score by two lengths in San Isidro’s Clásico Latency (L), which proved to be his most recent appearance.
Breaking from the rail will be Garufa Mask (Mask), a seasoned campaigner who has already captured the Clásico Asociación Argentina de Fomento Equino (L) and the Clásico Gendarmería Nacional Argentina.
Absent since October, he returns under new management after transferring from Arnaldo Vigil’s barn to that of Martín and Carlos Domingo.
Rodo (Flowing Rye) and Azúcar Negro (Angiolo) appear to face a very difficult task against this level of opposition.
