The daughter of Fortify will make her local debut at Hipódromo de La Plata carrying 57 kilograms, backed by a recent victory at San Isidro; Hi Crystal brings genuine black-type credentials that demand plenty of respect

The great current form of trainer Guillermo Frenkel Santillán's stable will have a new opportunity to continue this Tuesday. Now it will be Franta (Fortify, 57 kg) in charge of defending it when she takes on the Handicap Haras Don Florentino, the most important race of the card at El Bosque, over 1400 meters on the dirt for 4-year-old and up mares with three or more wins.

Without major figures in the field, the daughter of Fortify finds a favorable occasion to take a step forward. She will carry 57 kilos and arrives after winning by 2 1/2 lengths in a condition race at San Isidro, where she scored the fourth victory of her campaign and left a favorable impression to imagine her fighting for something more.

The main question will be her adaptation to the track, as she has never competed at La Plata. In her favor is her experience on the Jockey Club dirt, the exact surface on which she achieved her most recent victory and whose layout shares similarities with the one she will encounter today. Nevertheless, she will have to solve that challenge on the fly against opponents with plenty of arguments to test her.

Based on form, the most serious opposition appears to come from Hi Crystal (Hi Happy), who will share the top weight of 57 kilos with the favorite. Her latest performance carried particular value: she finished second in the Clásico Manuel F. y Emilio Gnecco (G3), 3 lengths behind End of Spring (Il Campione), while leaving Guadilú (Señor Candy) a nose back in third.

That reference gained even more relevance on Monday, when the daughter of Señor Candy captured the Handicap Stars and Stripes at Palermo. The comparison suggests taking Hi Crystal very seriously, as she is capable of bringing that level to a task that, at least on paper, appears less demanding. If she repeats what she did against rivals of that caliber, she will have plenty to say.

Cancha Rayada (Strategos, 56) also deserves attention, seeking to capitalize on the momentum of her two consecutive victories. In her latest start, she won by 5 lengths, a margin that speaks to the comfort with which she handled the race. Now she must prove that her dominance in condition ranks can be sustained against a different level of competition.

Leyenda Mundial (Platinum Warrior, 55), for her part, brings a brief yet productive campaign. She is coming off her third victory by 1 1/2 lengths over this course, a detail that allows her to face this challenge with track familiarity already proven. Her steady progress makes her another viable alternative in an open field.

Arriving from San Isidro is Luna Gitana (Le Blues, 56), also boasting a third career victory as her credentials, although achieved at the optional level. The step up in class will require her to improve, but she arrives backed by recent success.

Finally, Fukuoka (Japan) will have her 53-kilo assignment as a key advantage for her stakes debut. She has been running well and will look to capitalize on the weight concession to make her presence felt. Franta holds the preference; Hi Crystal provides the strongest form to challenge her.
