The daughter of Señor Candy has been in sharp form of late and now looks to make her mark once again

After the Christmas break, racing in Argentina resumes this Friday with a 16-race card at Hipódromo de San Isidro, highlighted by the Handicap Jerry Honor.
Set to be run over 1400 meters on the dirt for fillies and mares aged four and up, the handicap attracted just seven confirmations, with La Paltrow (Hurricane Cat, 54) already expected to scratch.
Under those circumstances, Guadilu shapes as the main play. Carrying 57 kilos, she will be aiming to secure her second success outside the allowance ranks, capitalizing on her current upswing in form. A daughter of Señor Candy trained by Agustín Pavlovsky for Lagrange, she captured the Handicap Wally and has since finished second in both the Handicap Academia Nacional de Agronomía y Veterinaria and the Handicap Potrizaris, in addition to a third-place effort in the Clásico Orbit (L).
Those credentials place her a notch above Look Happy (Hi Happy, 56 1/2), who also boasts an excellent résumé at this level. Winner of the Handicap Resuello, she later added third-place finishes in the Clásico Día de la Soberanía Nacional and the Handicap Borobeta, further polishing her already solid profile.
Next best appears to be the resurgent Filippiada (Il Mercato, 56), who last season landed the Clásico Manuel J. Güiraldes (G3) and held her own when placed in both the Polla (G1) and Selección (G1). After a quiet spell, she recently returned to winning ways in a condition race, doing so with authority, and her move back into deeper waters could prove timely.
Shouldering top weight of 58 kilos, Ataka (Señor Candy) will look to show there is still more to come, recalling her back-to-back handicap victories at Palermo in the Haras Chapadmalal and Pensylvania. She exits a fourth-place finish in the Handicap Borobeta that hinted at a return to form.
Rounding out the field as longer-priced surprises are Popova (Holy Boss, 51 1/2) and Alambradora Si (Silentio, 54), particularly the former, who showed ability in stakes company as a filly and could outrun her odds if recapturing that level.
