Miss Talento Targets the Clásico Blue Prize at Hipódromo de San Isidro

The daughter of Equal Talent will shoulder top weight of 60 kilos and stretch out to 2000 meters

The Sunday stakes doubleheader at Hipódromo de San Isidro gets underway with the Clásico Blue Prize, a tribute to one of the greatest Argentine mares of all time—who reached international glory with a victory in the Breeders' Cup Distaff under Ignacio Correas (h.).

Run over 2000 meters on the turf for fillies and mares three and up under handicap conditions, the race offers a winner’s prize of ARS 9,200,000, and the filly most strongly fancied to claim it is Miss Talento, trained by María F. Álvarez and Walter Suárez.

The daughter of Equal Talent will shoulder top weight of 60 kilos and arrives off a solid victory in the Handicap Nigromante, contested over 1800 meters on the dirt, with Gonzalo Borda—who retains the mount—aboard.

Standing in her path are some tough rivals, led by Risible (Orpen, 56), who takes a step down in class after finishing fifth in the Clásico Ramón Biaus (G2). Previously runner-up in the Handicap Miss Grillo, she has already shown an affinity for the turf.

Next best appears Resilincia Holiday (Cosmic Trigger, 54 1/2), who will carry considerably less weight and has been progressing steadily. Following a nose victory over End of Spring (Il Campione), she finished second to the stakes-winning Verenna (Cosmic Trigger) over 1400 meters and now stretches out in distance in search of further improvement.

Completing the picture is Masiera Time (Annals of Time, 52 1/2), who boasts two wins from four starts and looks to finish the year on a high note. Her youth and light impost could play in her favor, despite her relative lack of experience.
