Propietarios and Potrillón headline the upcoming turf action at San Isidro

Campo Verde and Vundu emerge as the leading names for Friday’s turf features in the North

The Hipódromo de San Isidro has begun shaping its upcoming race programs, including cards scheduled for Friday, August 1 and Wednesday, August 6, though neither features marquee events. Still, the opening day of August will include a pair of black-type contests.

The Clásico Propietarios (L) will bring together juveniles sprinting 1000 meters over the turf, while the Clásico Potrillón—for 4-year-olds and up over 2000 meters on the grass—will serve as one of two qualifying events to determine the Jockey Club Argentino's representative in the G1 Gran Premio Latinoamericano, set for October in Gávea, Brazil.

Following his recent win in the G3 Estrellas Sprint JuniorCampo Verde (Strategos) heads a list of nine entrants for the Propietarios. His potential rivals include: Arriba Los Corazones (Angiolo), Elekto (Santillano), La Farce(Emmanuel), Lindo Tono Pass (Distinctiv Passion), Mimosa Grey (Zensational), Secreto a Voces (Springdom), The Beast Party (In the Dark), and Tren de Vida (Mootasadir).

Meanwhile, the spotlight in the Clásico Potrillón will fall on G1 winner Vundu (Suggestive Boy), who is set to face a competitive field that could include: Beatles (Sixties Song), Capitán Kid (Daniel Boone), Cornwall (Remote), Don Taimado (Il Campione), Don Tigre (Cityscape), Eco Rush (Ecólogo), Llegó Bien and Solicitadísimo (both by Señor Candy), Mister Coquette (Bodemeister), and Brazilian raider Uqayr (Hat Trick).

Looking ahead to the Wednesday, August 6 program, the feature will be the Handicap Academia Nacional de Agronomía y Veterinaria (1300m, dirt), for fillies and mares four and up.

Topweight honors at 58.5 kilos went to Kelly Rose (Il Campione), who is among 18 possible starters, including: Che Mamita (Safety Check, 57), Look Happy (Hi Happy, 57), Rollanda (Bodemeister, 56), Opera Garnier (Safety Check, 55.5), Estrella del Día (Il Campione, 55.5), Cold Mind (Lucullan, 54.5), Full of Glory (Full Mast, 54), Guadilu (Señor Candy, 54), and Isolation (Suggestive Boy, 53.5).
