The world championships will return to Belmont Park for the first time since 2005 and will showcase the completely renovated venue set to open its doors this coming September

ELMONT, New York (Special to Turf Diario).– The countdown to one of the most highly anticipated returns in international racing is officially underway. Breeders' Cup Limited and the New York Racing Association (NYRA) presented this Monday the official logo for the 2027 Breeders' Cup World Championships, which will be held on October 29 and 30 of that year at the new Belmont Park.

This edition will carry a special significance, as it will mark the debut of the New York venue as host of the world championships following the massive renovation project that completely transformed the historic Long Island racetrack. Additionally, it will represent the return of the Breeders' Cup to Belmont Park for the first time since 2005.

The new logo design incorporates the iconic New York City skyline, aiming to reflect both the identity of the metropolis and the beginning of a new era for one of the most important venues in North American racing.

"The official 2027 logo incorporates the iconic New York skyline, celebrating both a new era for Belmont Park and the permanent legacy of racing in this state," explained Justin McDonald, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Breeders' Cup Limited. "We are thrilled to present this imagery to fans, horsemen, and partners around the world as we prepare for an epic return of the World Championships to the Empire State."

The renovated version of Belmont Park will officially open its doors for live racing on September 18, 2026, culminating an ambitious redevelopment project that required several years of work and aims to turn the racetrack into one of the most modern equine and entertainment complexes in the world.

Among the highlights of the project are a completely new grandstand, extensive hospitality areas for fans, an expanded paddock area, and a fully modernized training and racing infrastructure.

The complex will feature 4 racing surfaces: the traditional main dirt track, two turf courses, and a new one-mile synthetic oval, offering unprecedented versatility for the sport.

Another standout aspect of the project was the opening of the infield to the public, creating a green space that is far more accessible for fans and the local community.

The 2027 edition will mark the sixth time the Breeders' Cup is contested in New York, adding to those held in 1985, 1990, 1995, 2001, and 2005, all of which became memorable chapters in the history of the championships.

Before that highly anticipated return, the 2026 Breeders' Cup World Championships will be held on October 30 and 31 at Keeneland, where the best horses on the planet will gather once again in pursuit of international glory.

For New York, however, the excitement has already begun. Because after an absence of more than two decades, the Breeders' Cup will return to one of its most emblematic homes, this time at a Belmont Park completely transformed and prepared to host another great page in the history of world racing.
