Unbeaten in three starts at La Plata, the Daddy Long Legs filly headlines the field for the Especial Curtida Nistel, a race that promises a classic-level showdown

LA PLATA.- Racing returns this afternoon to La Plata, featuring a 13-race program highlighted by the Especial Curtida Nistel. Run over 1200 meters for mares four and up with at least three wins—and offering a modest first prize of 5,355,000 pesos—the race has drawn a powerful field of 10, boasting near stakes-level quality.
After two disappointing performances at San Isidro, Truly Princess (Daddy Long Legs) returns to the track where she has produced her best results, carrying just 56kg. Racing for Stud Chúcaros, she reeled off victories here in the Clasicos Helda, Santiago Luro, and Arturo A. Bullrich (G3), and if she remembers that form, she should be headed back to her box at Campo 2 in the North with another trophy in hand.
Emely (Il Campione, 54kg) returns from a 135-day layoff, having finished third behind Truly Princess in the Bullrich before that break, though prior to that she put together a four-race winning streak at Palermo, highlighted by the Handicap Carapálida.
Trained by Alfredo Gaitán Dassié, Joy Toscana (Fortify, 52kg) returns to a track where she feels right at home, having earned each of her three career wins here. She was unplaced in San Isidro’s Handicap Roy, but carries a light impost this time, which could prove key.
High Rimout (Remote, 52kg) also adds class to the field, having finished second to Bayonne (Puerto Escondido) in the Clásico Diego M. Argüello and later fifth behind Bichita de Luz (Fragotero) in the Clásico Snow Figure, only 4 1/2 lengths back.
Veteran Zensational Dream (Zensational, 56kg) brings optimism as well; the 8-year-old mare has won two of her last three starts and should be competitive to the wire.
Maylena (Qué Vida Buena, 52kg) has been beaten only once, on debut, and comes in riding a three-race winning streak, bringing valuable experience as she now tackles her first higher-level test with lofty expectations.
Breaking from the rail is Señora Bagaces (Lizard Island, 56kg), who previously captured the Especial Haras El Talahere at La Plata.
