Daryz will enter stud at a fee of €50,000, joining Sea The Stars on the stallion roster

The two-time Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner will join Gilltown Stud in Ireland alongside his sire. Aga Khan Studsannounced its stallion fees for 2027, led by Sea The Stars at €300,000, alongside a significant reduction for Siyouni, whose fee drops to €110,000

PARIS, France.— The arrival of Daryz at stud represents one of the major developments in the 2027 European stallion market. The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1) winner will launch his new career at Gilltown Stud, Ireland, at a fee of €50,000, joining the same roster as his sire, the extraordinary Sea The Stars (Cape Cross), whose fee remains at €300,000.
The announcement was made by Aga Khan Studs, confirming the stud fees for its eight stallions ahead of the upcoming Northern Hemisphere breeding season. The addition of Daryz generates particular expectation due to his top-tier racing record and the opportunity for breeders to access a fresh alternative within one of European racing's most prestigious sire lines.
Bred and raced by the Aga Khan organization, Daryz enters Gilltown backed by victory in France's most iconic contest. His status as a son of Sea The Stars provides further commercial appeal, especially for breeders seeking access to that bloodline through an unexposed young sire at a fraction of his father's cost.
The Aga Khan Studs operation itself will foreseeably serve as one of his primary supporters during his initial seasons, alongside anticipated strong demand from international breeders.
Meanwhile, Sea The Stars continues as the centerpiece of the Irish operation. His €300,000 fee maintains his place among Europe's most elite stallions, reaffirming the market value of a progeny line that consistently yields world-class performers. Also standing at Gilltown will be Erevann (Dubawi), relocated from Haras de Bonneval, France, for the 2027 season. His fee remains unchanged at €8,000.
On French soil, two additional major recruits join the roster. First is Rayif (Sea the Moon), winner of the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (G1)—the French 2000 Guineas—and the Prix Jacques le Marois (G1). That classic mile double sees him enter stud at Bonneval at a fee of €20,000.
The second addition is Samangan (Blue Point), a sprinter who captured the Prix Maurice de Gheest (G1) and whose introductory fee has been set at €10,000. His arrival broadens the farm's bloodstock range, introducing top-flight speed to a diverse roster.
However, one of the most notable decisions in the release centers on Siyouni (Pivotal), whose fee drops from €150,000 to €110,000. The €40,000 reduction, representing a 26.7% decline, stands out given his status as one of modern French breeding's most influential stallions.
The son of Pivotal, who recently reached the landmark of 100 stakes winners, will continue to occupy a premier market position under more accessible economic terms for breeders.
A contrasting approach was taken with Zarak (Dubawi), who retains his €80,000 fee for a third consecutive season. The stability reflects sustained commercial confidence in a sire firmly established among Europe's most sought-after options. Likewise, Vadeni (Churchill), entering his fourth season at stud, remains unchanged at €15,000.
The overall strategy from Aga Khan Studs balances new sire additions, the relocation of Erevann, and targeted fee adjustments across its established stars.
Yet all eyes will naturally turn to Gilltown, where Daryz begins a new chapter alongside Sea The Stars. Father and son will share the stallion barn—separated by €250,000 in their respective fees—a margin reflecting two distinct stages of their breeding careers.
