Charging from last to first, the daughter of In the Dark takes the Stiletto Handicap

When Manicura Rusa (Zensational, 55) surged to a clear lead at the 300-meter mark in the Stiletto Handicap (1600m, dirt)—Friday’s feature at San Isidro—it seemed virtually impossible for Noche Plateada (In the Dark, 57), trailing at the very back and out of the frame, to catch her.
But the precision of Francisco Leandro made the impossible a reality. The favorite ignited a furious late rally, giving the crowd a chance to breathe only in the final strides as she reeled in the frontrunner inside the last 30 meters, flying past to win by 1 1/2 lengths at the wire.
It was a spectacular effort from the Stud Los Dos Hermanitos runner, who had been stretched out early, found herself trapped along the rail at the top of the stretch, and then unleashed a stunning charge to notch the sixth and most significant victory of her solid career.
A true iron horse with an incredible 45 career starts, Noche Plateada has already raced five times in 2025, now boasting two wins beyond the allowance ranks. Nearly a year ago, in April 2024, she captured the Especial Jockey Club de Corrientes at La Plata.
Trainer Elizabeth del Carmen Cedeño Heyden sent out the chestnut mare, bred by Haras Don Santiago, out of Estrella Plateada (Silver Planet), who had already produced the stakes-placed Mar Dorado (Treasure Beach).
