Led by Sono Perfetto, Billion, and Mannarino, the stayers will take on the demanding test on Dec. 30

LA PLATA.- The curtain will come down on Tuesday, Dec. 30—also closing the annual calendar—anchored by one of the venue’s strongest traditional fixtures: the Clásico Clausura (G2, 2000m), for horses aged three and up. The race shapes as a de facto rematch of the Gran Premio Dardo Rocha.
Of the 25 originally entered, 13 were scratched, including several notable names such as El Emporio (Il Campione), Seek Wave (Seek Again), and Valle Barún (Vástago Salvaje).
With nearly ARS 15,000,000 awaiting the winner, Sono Perfetto (Tetaze) emerges as one of the leading contenders after his G2 victory in the Clásico Provincia de Buenos Aires and a meaningful showing on Nov. 19.
Lining up against him are a group of seasoned rivals well-versed in the division: Billion (Galicado), Mannarino (Cosmic Trigger), El Darwin (Il Campione), and Rumor de Fuego (Daddy Long Legs).
Also confirmed for the Clausura are Amuni (Tetaze), Don Chamamé (Long Island Sound), El Estanciero (Fire Slam), Hit Colchonero (Hit It a Bomb), Lago Nahuel Huapi (Hurricane Cat), Mr. Canónico (Hurricane Cat), Ree Airoso(Reelants), and Señor Dalton (Señor Candy).
The card will also feature two specials: the Especial París Queen (1000m) and the Especial Tan Cerezo (1200m). The former is for fillies and mares aged four and up, while the latter is open to horses aged five and older; both races are restricted to runners with three or more wins.
Confirmed for the París Queen are Señorita Ambar (Señor Candy, 52kg), Maylena (Qué Vida Buena, 54), Nina Ride (Señor Candy, 52), Grand Sara Jet (Grand Reward, 54), Queen’s Reward (Grand Reward, 52), Qué Marie (Qué Vida Buena, 52), Beauty Check (Safety Check, 54), and High Rimout (Remote, 56).
Set to contest the Tan Cerezo are Ke Juanjo (Kewell, 54), Decan Dall (Victor Security, 54), Noni Letal (Don Letal, 56), East Ender (Il Campione, 56), Buen Curuzucuateño (Buen Verso, 54), Pequeño Dylan (Safety Check, 54), Por Ahí (Strategic Prince, 54), Vespaciano (Daniel Boone, 60), Indy Pro (Indy Point, 52), Graf Spee (Winning Prize), Al Fin Llegué (Southern Cat, 54), Cántaros Song (Alcindor, 56), Mactas (Empire Aztec), and Rodo (Flowing Rye, 54).
With depth across divisions and a marquee staying test to finish the year, La Plata looks set for a fitting finale to the 2025 season.
